Here are a few examples of my design work.
Adjustable Foot Block
A decking company needed an adjustable support for long deck rails. The design requirements included easy-to-install, ability to be produced in multiple colors to match railings, and strong enough to meet safety standards. I developed a design, which used only injection molded plastic parts and assembled by permanently snapping together the components.
Modular Aerosol Medication Adapter
Building on a previous design, I simplified and reduced the size of this tubing system. The locking mechanism needed a balance between a firm connection to devices and an ability to be repositioned quickly by the medical staff.
Volumetric Valve
I managed the development of this complex electromechanical device from the prototype stage to field testing to manufacturing. It incorporates a flow meter to track water flow and solenoids to pump syrup to maintain a properly mixed soft drink.
Gorilla Storage Box
The customer needed replacement tools for a storage box selling about 15,000 units per year. They also wanted to reduce costs and improve features. I created a new, stronger design, which sold 50,000 units annually.
